1. Cook:

1.1. Sauté the onions:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add the onion and cook until softened about 5 minutes.

1.2. Add everything else (except the cheese and basil):

  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, water, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

1.3. Add the pasta:

  • Add the pasta to the pot and stir well.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through.
  • Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

1.4. Stir in the cheese and basil:

  • Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of the Parmesan cheese and the basil .

2. Serve:

  • Serve immediately with a sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil on top.

Tip:

Adding a drizzle of olive oil at the end is a great touch! It adds richness and flavor, and it also makes the dish look more appealing. 😋
