Ingredients:

* The combination is up to you and your imagination. I have even used a combination of basil, chives, parsley, and rosemary. If you prefer a stronger herb flavor, double the amount of herbs.

Directions:

1. Rinse:

1.1.

Place 2 cups of white basmati rice into a strainer and thoroughly rinse under cold water.

1.2.

Then add into a rice cooker or pot.

2. Cook:

2.1. Add:

4 cups of water

Briefly stir, cover with a lid, and cook until done:

A. Cooking in a rice cooker:

  • Do not stir rice during cooking.
  • Do not open the rice cooker during cooking — or at least try to eliminate it.
  • Most rice cookers will turn off automatically after you are done (follow the manual).

B. Cooking in a pot (on the stove):

  • Cook covered with a lid on medium heat with occasional stirring until all liquid is absorbed. Water should not boil but only simmer during cooking (temperature about 195°).
  • When all liquid is absorbed, make sure that the rice is cooked by tasting it. If the rice needs more time, add a little more water, and keep cooking for a little longer.

Note:
Brown rice will be more nutritious, but will require a longer cooking time. Most rice cookers will automatically preset the necessary cooking time.

3. Final phase:

3.1. Add into the pot:

½ cup of herbs of your choice – finely chopped
1 clove of garlic – grated
1 TBSP of butter
Drizzle of olive oil
Juice from half of the lemon
2 TBSP of black sesame seeds
½ TSP of salt
¼ TSP of ground pepper

Thoroughly fold together with a spatula.

3.2.

Taste and add salt and pepper if needed.

Tips for serving:

If you want to serve them in a beautiful way, use measuring cups for plating (the perfect size is a ½ or 1 cup). Scoop the rice with the cup, smooth with a spatula, and then flip onto a plate. If it doesn’t come out of the cup by itself, lightly tap the top of the cup.
