Directions:

1. Prep and Cook:

Let us get started with the prep work and then cooking.

1.1 Cabbage Prep:

Slice off the bottom stem and top. Peel the outside leaves of the cabbage. Wash the cabbage under cold water, then pat dry.

1.2 Continued Prep:

Slice the cabbage in half, then slice each in half again. Repeat until you have 1″ thick cabbage slices.

1.3 Baking sheet with Foil:

Place on the baking sheet. Drizzle each with olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning and black pepper over top.

1.4 Air Fry or Bake:

Air fry for about 10 minutes at 375°F or Bake in Oven at 400 for 30 minutes

Seasonings

Try adding cumin, paprika, or chili powder for a spicy kick. You can also try adding a touch of sweetness with brown sugar or maple syrup.

Toppings

Sprinkle them with crumbled bacon, dried cranberries, chopped nuts, or grated parmesan cheese. You can also add a dollop of sour cream or a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

In addition to being a tasty side dish, cabbage steaks can also be used as a base for other toppings and sauces. Try topping them with sautéed mushrooms and onions, or drizzling them with balsamic glaze or tahini sauce.
