How We Fight Hunger?

We fight hunger by:

  • Operating the community recipe platform CookingHub while engaging the community in the fight against hunger (read more below).
  • Advocating for the Cause – spreading awareness about hunger issues (read more below).
  • Educating the community (read more below).
  • Donating a significant part of our proceeds to leading hunger-fighting charities (read more below).

Operating the community recipe platform CookingHub

  • CookingHub – the community recipe, educational, and social platform – is a cornerstone of our non-profit and our main hunger-fighting tool.
  • We didn’t want to create another for-profit recipe platform where most people have to spend money, only making corporations richer. We wanted to make difference by creating the movement.
  • Become part of our growing food-loving community which shares responsibility in the fight against hunger.
  • Those who can, donate, which will be crucial for us as a public charity.
  • But every participant will increase traffic which will help to generate more revenue. So every new user will get us closer to our goal.
  • We love food and everything about it – from recipes to cooking techniques. Our community platform celebrates diversity, food culture, and all things related. Everyone is welcome to publish recipes and express themselves as they wish.
  • We pledge to never charge for our services, so anyone will always be able to enjoy CookingHub for free!

Advocating for the Cause

  • Advocating for the cause is an important part of our mission since it’s crucial to continuously spread the word and make as many people as possible aware of issues related to hunger.
  • Encouraging actions such as utilizing proper food management, reducing food waste, sharing nutritious recipes, and donating can make a difference.
  • We believe that nobody in the world should suffer from hunger, and we also believe that if we all do our part, then nobody has to suffer from hunger anymore.

Educating the community

  • Educating users on how to prepare nutricious meals (with any budget) is an important part of our mission.
  • The wider audience is educated by free and unlimited access to recipes, cooking technique lessons, information about ingredients and tools as well as other cooking-related content.
  • In winter 2024/2025, we are going to introduce Budget Cooking – a specialized section with recipes and guidance for disadvantaged communities with limited budgets. Aside from budget-friendly recipes, users will be provided with tips on how to shop on a limited budget and where and how to obtain additional resources to put more food on the table.
  • Starting in winter 2024/2025, we are also going to offer two kinds of live online cooking classes: for the audience with limited resources to show how to prepare nutricious food with limited recourses and for the general audience with a focus on delicious worldwide cuisine. Classes will be admission free for all, but everyone can consider paying recommended admission fee (if they can).

Donating a significant part of our proceeds

  • Our hunger-fighting activities consist of donating designated proceeds to our partners, hunger fighting organizations – directly helping those in needs.
  • Our current partner and recipient of designated proceeds is No Kid Hungry (read more about No Kid Hungry here).
  • Proceeds of the foundation are generated from operations, donations, grants, and the endowment. Read more about the generation and distribution procees below.
  • Our eventual goal is to establish our own infrastructure for delivering help to those who need it most.

The specter of hunger looms large over our world, casting a shadow on millions of lives. While we often associate hunger with developing nations, its tendrils reach even the most affluent societies, reminding us that food insecurity is a universal challenge.

Tom Tom Founder

We need to raise $38,872 to cover our basic operational expenses for the rest of 2024.

Your Donations Are Crucial, Especially Now in the First Few Months of Our Full Operation

The development of the CookingHub platform (which took over three years) and the establishment of the CookingHub Foundation were financed from independent resources. Finally, after a long wait, the CookingHub Foundation started its mission on September 4rd, 2024.

Now we would like to ask you to join our donors and voluenteers by donating, if you can. Your donation will not just help with collecting more proceeds for our hunger-fighting charities, but also help us with our startup and operational expenses (that are not small).

Help us grow so we can generate even more proceeds to make an even greater difference in the fight against hunger.

Help Us Spread the Word

We understand that not everyone can donate, but the good news is that you can still make a difference even without donating.

Equally important to any donation is word of mouth. Let everyone know that CookingHub is not only a great recipe platform but also a platform trying to make the world a better place.

Even though it is a mission-driven platform, CookingHub will attract users regardless of their willingness to be involved in our charitable purpose – everyone can use good recipes. Everyone’s presence and participation will generate important parts of the proceeds that will go directly to supporting CookingHub’s mission of fighting hunger.

How Often Will We Fundraise?

We anticipate becoming a premiere recipe platform for everyone, so we understand that continuously asking for donations can drive users away from great content. For this reason, the frequency of donation requests will be increasingly limited as our audience and related operational income grow.

The main focus will always be on the quality and functionality of the platform.
