How It All Started: From Cooking with Family to CookingHub, a recipes, educational, and social platform owned and operated by Checked Solutions, LLC.
Tom the Chef FounderIn 2019, Tom Slepicka established his blog on CookingwithFamily.com to share his recipes and passion for food. As Cooking with Family grew, it connected Tom with many people and provided him with an outlet to express his love for cooking. As the community expanded, Tom realized that a better approach than merely publishing recipes and receiving feedback would be to create a space where everyone has equal opportunities. A place where individuals can share recipes, cooking techniques, opinions, and communicate with others. This realization led to the birth of the idea for CookingHub and the initiation of work to develop the platform.
From its inception, CookingHub has been designed for anyone who loves food—from beginner home chefs to seasoned professionals. The belief is that everyone has valuable insights to offer simply by sharing.
As an immigrant to the USA, Tom feels incredibly fortunate to have never experienced hunger himself. His family, however, was not so fortunate during the years before and during WWII, and their stories have had a profound impact on him. This is why Tom feels a strong compulsion to give back, and it serves as the driving force behind CookingHub and the CookingHub Foundation.
